The Gen Kress Parking Lot &
Demolition of the Saba Building 1559 North Bend Road

CHCURC is pleased to announce the demolition of 1559 North Bend Road (formerly Dr. Saba's medical offices) has begun.  The demolition ceremony took place on Thursday, May 12th.  Vice Mayor Roxanne Qualls and Council Member Wendell Young were on hand to recongize the start of the Gen Kress Parking Lot Expansion Project.  The majority of demolition will take place the week of May 16th.

The Gen Kress Parking Lot Expansion Project is the result of a $305,000 grant CHCURC received in December 2009 from the City of Cincinnati through the Neighborhood Business District Improvement Project.  CHCURC landed the grant to expand the Gen Kress Parking Lot behind College Hill Coffee Co. & Casual Gourmet, Bacall’s, Marty’s Hops & Vines, Schwartz Jewelers, and Enliven.  CHCURC closed on 1559 North Bend Road on October 6, 2010, and the Gen Kress Parking Lot committee has been working with the City of Cincinnati's Department of Community Development to finalize the new layout for the parking lot.  As part of that grant, the parking lot will be expanded by 20 new parking spots, new and improved lighting will be installed, and the safety for the entrance and exit will be improved.  Additionally, look for outdoor seating at College Hill Coffee Co., Bacall’s, and Marty’s Hops & Vines in the future!
